Description:
The CBCGB Senior Pastor, under the authority of the Board of Elders, is the
spiritual leader of the church and serves primarily as preacher, shepherd, and
teacher.
Faith - He is in agreement with the CBCGB
faith statements. He has an
intimate relationship with God, endeavors to live a Christ-led life, and
possesses a burden to reach the lost.
Ministry - He has a clear calling from God to
full-time pastoral ministry and several years of experience in full-time
church-related or para-church ministry.
He has a strong ability to compose and preach affecting sermons. He is able to correctly handle God’s
word and refute those who oppose it.
Leadership - He has experience in setting a
long-term ministry vision and working toward it. He actively seeks and discerns God's
will for the church and the needs of the congregation, and follows through with
effective actions. He has
experience in leading, making decisions, and resolving conflict. He is honest and open in his
communications with church members.
Training - He is conversationally fluent in
both Chinese and English, and able to preach effectively in either Chinese or
English. He possesses a Master of
Divinity or higher degree or strong evidence of equivalent.
Responsibilities:
The CBCGB
Senior Pastor will:
Preach - Preach God’s message with power and
conviction. Inspire and motivate
the congregation to repentance and change.
Regularly deliver sermons to the congregations in a variety of preaching
venues.
Set Vision - Discern from God and share with the
congregation a long-term vision for CBCGB.
Set goals and facilitate actions to realize the newly-formed vision for
CBCGB.
Lead - Supervise and lead the CBCGB
pastoral staff (currently eight individuals). Lead the church by his example of
Christian living and service. Lead
and set priorities for church ministries such as evangelism, discipleship,
missions, etc. Know and act
appropriately upon the various spiritual needs of the congregation.
Foster Unity - Fulfill the role of an elder of
CBCGB; together, strive to become stronger leaders of the church. Integrate and promote unity among CBCGB
demographic groups and ministries.
Communicate regularly and broadly with church members. Exercise strong people skills while
driving decision making within and helping form consensus among the pastoral
staff.
Pray - Actively engage in prayer ministry.
The CBCGB
Senior Pastor may also:
Teach - Teach Sunday school classes or
provide workshops on pertinent issues.
Outreach - Reach out to the community;
stimulate or lead collaboration with other churches.
Quantitative Position Requirements:
Intention - Intention to work as a full-time
pastor (as defined by CBCGB personnel/employment and benefits agreements).
Experience - A minimum of three years experience
in full-time church ministry (e.g., pastor, minister, missionary, etc.) or
para-church (e.g., campus) ministry.
Language - Fluency in both Chinese and English;
able to preach in Chinese or English.
Education - Possession of a Master of Divinity
or higher degree or strong evidence of equivalent.

資格說明 : CBCGB的主任牧師，在長老團的授權之下，乃教會的屬靈領袖，主要負責講道、牧養、及教導。
信仰 – 同意CBCGB信仰告白，與神有親密關係，生活以基督為首，並以傳福音給未信之人為己任。
事工 – 有神清楚的呼召，來全職牧會；有數年在教會或相關事工全職事奉的經驗。善於撰寫及傳講感動人心的證道詞，能按著正意分解神的道，且駁斥反對神話語之人。
領導才能 – 有設定及推動長遠事工異象之經驗。積極尋求、辨明神對教會的旨意及了解會眾之需要，並有效地跟進和執行。有領導、作決策、及解決紛爭的經驗，並誠實公開地與教會會友溝通。
訓練 – 能以流利的國語及英語溝通，並能有效地以國語或英語講道。具備道學碩士或以上學歷，或明確之同等學歷。
責任：
CBCGB的主任牧師需要:
講道 – 能有力地傳講神的信息，令人信服；喚起會眾認罪悔改與更新靈命，經常在多種傳道場合向會眾證道。
設定異象 – 從神領受CBCGB的長程異象，並能與會眾分享。設定目標、規劃行動，共同達成異象。
領導 – 監督領導CBCGB的教牧同工，以基督徒的生活及服事榜樣來帶領教會，對於教會的事工如傳福音、門徒訓練、宣教等，能領導並設定其優先次序。瞭解會眾各項屬靈需要，從而採取合宜的因應行動。
促進合一 – 擔任CBCGB長老團的一員，使長老團合神心意，成為強而有力的團隊，一起盡心竭力服事教會。整合CBCGB各個不同年齡和文化背景的小組及事工，促進教會合一，經常廣泛地與會友溝通。以嫻熟的待人技巧，與牧長們溝通，協助其達成共識與決策。
禱告 – 積極投入禱告事工。
也可能要擔任的職務:
教導 – 教主日學或提供相關的小組研討。
延伸 – 社區關懷，促進或領導與其它教會的合作。
職位需要的條件:
意願 – 願意擔任全職牧師 (根據CBCGB人事/聘用及福利協定)。
經驗 – 有三年以上在教會事工(譬如: 牧師、傳道、宣教士)，或教會相關事工 (如: 校園)全職事奉的經驗。
語言 – 國語及英語都流利，能以國語或英語講道。
教育 – 具備道學碩士或以上學歷，或明確之同等學歷。
